Animal Trainer Lab
Dates: June 22nd – 26th, 10am-3pm

Quick Look: Work with real museum animals, explore how they evolved how we care for them, design habitats, and present your work at a family showcase.

Class Details: Spend a week working with real museum animals as zoologists explore reptiles, amphibians, fish, and river invertebrates. Campers learn how animals evolved, how they live in the wild, and how museums care for them in captivity, then design habitats, enrichment, and training plans to improve animal well-being. The week concludes with a family showcase where campers present their work.
Prehistoric Minds
Dates: July 20th-24th, 10am-3pm
Age Groups: 7-11 | 12 & Up
Quick Look: What swam with dinosaurs? Explore ancient reptiles & modern iguanas. Prehistoric Minds links fossils to living species & evolution.

Class Details: How is a modern turtle like one that swam with dinosaurs? What can ancient reptiles teach us about the iguanas in our care today? Prehistoric Minds blends paleontology and zoology to explore how evolution shapes behavior and survival. Students investigate fossil animals, analyze adaptations, and then examine living counterparts at the museum. This class builds scientific thinking, comparison skills, and evolutionary understanding, ending with a final showcase of deep-time to modern day discoveries made over the course of the week.
