Hexapod invertebrates are INSECTS! This is the largest and most diverse group of animals within the arthropod phylum. Come meet the creatures that have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three-part body (head, thorax and abdomen), three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes and one pair of antennae.

From jumping spiders with multiple eyes, to crawling ants lifting massive weights and farming their own fungi, insects will grab your interest and keep you asking more questions. Let's dig deeper together. Did you know the total number of species is estimated at between six and ten million?? In fact, potentially over 90% of the animal life forms on Earth today are insects.

We will explore the vast number of species and investigate their body structure and function.
